Expert Dustless Refinishing

Many people believe that once their hardwood floor has become damaged, scratched, or has simply become worn and dull, that the only remedy is to replace it. One of the benefits of hardwood floors with solid real wood is that they can be sanded and refinished multiple times over the lifetime of the floor. Hardwood floor refinishing is much more affordable than replacing the floor and is a great way to restore the luster and beauty of your floor.

The hardwood floor refinishing process consists of sanding the hardwood floor to bare wood to remove the existing stain and finish before staining and refinishing it. Sanding is a necessary part of the hardwood floor refinishing process. Unfortunately sanding creates dust. Traditional floor sanding creates a tremendous amount of dust that coats your home, invades your air ducts, and makes it necessary to vacate your home during the refinishing process until the mess can be cleaned up. Paramount Flooring provides dustless refinishing that keeps the mess to a minimum.

No floor sanding system can completely eliminate dust but the state-of-the-art dust containment system used by Paramount Flooring comes close. Our dustless refinishing process utilizes the AS Avac26 floor sanding equipment armed with a powerful built in vacuum system that traps 99% of the dust before it can enter the home. Wood dust is unhealthy to breath and can cause allergic and respiratory symptoms. Paramount Flooring’s dustless refinishing process includes making any necessary repairs like filling cracks, gouges, or nail holes, or even replacing boards that are beyond repair.

Dustless floor sanding also helps ensure the best possible results for your hardwood floor refinishing project. Minimal dust being created means less dust to remove during the staining and refinishing process, which results in a better stain and finish coat on your hardwood floors.

Expert Staining & Refinishing

After your hardwood floors have had all the repairs made and have been properly sanded, we will buff it to smooth down and even out the grain. It is then vacuumed and cleaned to thoroughly remove any dust before we begin the floor staining process.

The next step in the hardwood floor refinishing process is floor staining. Floor staining provides the perfect opportunity to give your hardwood floor a new look with a different, new, color stain. Paramount Flooring offers both polyurethane and water-based floor stains in a wide variety of colors. (See the DuraSeal Color Stain Chart below) We can even mix colors to customize a color stain just for you.
